Back in February, Indoor Racing roared into the Sun National Bank Center and New Jersey for the first time in over 30 years.

The event was a huge success with a solid fan base and more than fifty drivers taking lefts on the indoor short track. And, after a short time off since the Turkey Derby, racing fans in New England are ready to kick off the indoor racing season with the 2nd Annual “Battle of Trenton” this weekend in New Jersey.

The event will again be held at the Sun National Bank Center, where work has already begun on the surface in order to hold the two-day affair.  Some of the most talented drivers in the United States and Canada will come together to put on what should be a thrilling weekend of racing.

Friday night racing action will begin at 5 PM with TQ Midget qualifying.  Those time trials will set the field for a scheduled six qualifying heat races, 12 laps in distance.  The heat races will set the field for twin 20-lap features that will conclude the Friday night action.  The TQs will also be joined by the Champ Karts, who will be competing in heat races and a 20 lap feature as part of the night’s action.

Saturday night action will include the TQ Midgets in a 40-lap main event, once again with time trials and heat races.  The Saturday night qualifying session will be more like a traditional short track program, with time trials setting the lineup for heats and heat finishes setting the lineup for features.

The TQ Midgets will be joined by the Lentini Auto Salvage Slingshots as a supporting division, with a first-place price of $1,000 on the line.  The action Saturday gets underway with TQ Time Trials at 3 p.m.

The TQ Midget entries received so far include former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Ryan Preece, who scored the win in February at the Sun National Bank Center.  Other drivers entered include former Atlantic City indoor winner Anthony Sesely, Stafford Speedway SK Modified Champion Ted Christopher and names such as Jimmy “Showtime” Blewett, “Liquid” Lou Cicconi and 2014 PASS North Super Late Model titlist DJ Shaw.

The updated entry list headed into the weekend include 63 TQ Midgets.  Champ Kart entries are totaled at 27 to this point.
