Durham, Maine – Evan Beaulieu moved up out of the INEX Legends Cars and into a Super Late Model stock car at Beech Ridge Speedway for this season and has been competing in the Legends only at Beech Ridge’s Thursday Thunder Series.  Last week he got his first win of the year in that series and then finished 12th in the Late Model on Saturday night.

Evan was plenty excited about the Thursday Thunder victory.  “It’s been since last September that we were in Victory Lane so this feels really good,” he said.   “It was a great race for us as I made a three wide move for the lead on lap eight and drove away with it. We sit 46 points behind Matt Bourgoine with two races left but the championship isn’t decided until the final checkered flag and we will fight until it’s over to win it all!

On Saturday night, Evan had a “much needed improvement” in the Super Late Model with the 12th place finish.  “The result doesn’t show how well we ran,” the driver explained.   “We were in and out of the top ten all race but we didn’t have the speed we needed on the bottom of the track to move forward as quickly as we needed to. Still this is much better race for us as we were competitive all night and small improvements from here should vault us into the top five very soon.  We’re getting the car more settled on the Hoosier tires now and that’s making a big difference.”

Evan has some “extracurricular” items going on this week with plenty of media and other outside appearances.  “I will be on Mainely Motorsports TV this Wednesday night on Time Warner Cable Channel 9 at 8pm ,” Evan stated.  “We will also have the Super Late Model on display at Hancock Lumber in Brunswick on Thursday. We will be doing a Toys for Tots drive to benefit the local kids in Portland along with many other racers from many different forms of racing around (I believe I’m the only asphalt oval driver doing it though), and the cars will all be on display and the toys handed over on Labor Day, September 2nd at the Portland Motor Club in Portland, ME.  I’m pumped up about all of this as we love to see our fans and talk with the media to promote our team, our division and our marketing partners.”
