BREWERTON, NY – AUGUST 7, 2013 – (By Dave Medler) – If you have a love for Big Block Modifieds like the rest of us, then Brewerton Speedway is the place to be this Friday night, August 9th. The 800 horsepower Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds will be running a pair of 35 lap features. To start out the nights racing they will run their rain-postponed feature from July 19th.
Also on K-ROCK 100.9/106.5 will be the a full race card of Big Block Modifieds, Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Anchor Bar & Grill Mod Lites, and the finish of last week’s Four Cylinder Super Stock race and their regular scheduled feature. The 600 Micro Sprints will also be running a $700 to win feature. The Micro Sprints and the Brewerton Speedway are a perfect combination with their speed and no driver having a home track advantage. There will also be a lot of fun of the kids as the Home Depot will be on hand with a lot of activities for with their Kids Workshop.
Last Friday night in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, Ryan Phelps was able to grab his first win of the year after running down and passing Ryan Bartlett late in the 35 lap feature. Here is a look at the top-five in the point standings with only four points races left in the 2013 season. With double features things could change in a hurry. In the Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Chris Fleming overcame distributor problems in his heat race to come back to win the wild 20 lap feature. With Kevan Cook finishing second, Fleming and Cook look like it might come down to the final night to decide the title. Here are the top-five in the points. After a wild night last week with double features, cars upside down And Joe Isabell and Sterling Miller (First Win) the point stands are tight with two nights of racing this week at Brewerton and Fulton. There champion will not be decided till after the Outlaw 200 Weekend at Fulton (October 4-5) and the Hurricane 100 night at Brewerton (October 10). Adult admission Friday will be $15 with everyone 18 years old and younger FREE. Pit admission is $25 Members/$30 Non-Members. Gates will open at 5:30 with racing at 7:30.
