The Tri Track Open Modified Series has just gained another entry — and this one may be one of their biggest yet.
New England hot-shoe and NASCAR Next alumni Ryan Preece will look to add some trophies and cash to his pocket, after announcing that he will be competing in the 2015 edition of the Tri Track Open Modified Series. The series will hold races at Lee USA Speedway on May 17, Monadnock Speedway on June 13, Seekonk Speedway on July 1 and New London-Waterford Speedbowl on September 13.
“Myself and the TS Haulers team are excited to be going to the Tri Track Series. What Jim and the guys are doing for modified racing is awesome and we really appreciate it,” Preece told Race Chaser Online on Monday night.
The Tri Track Open Modified Series has four races that each have a total purse of over $30,000.
Preece is nearly perfect behind the wheel of the No. 6 TS Haulers ride that he took over late in the 2014 season. He has collected five wins in seven tries behind the wheel of the blue and red rocket, four of them coming at New Smyrna Speedway in February and the other coming in the 2014 North-South Shootout.
“I think Waterford will be a fun race for me,” Preece said. “I am looking forward to both Lee and Monadnock.”
Preece will be in action on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as well in 2015, behind the wheel of the No. 6.
