2015 is going to be a big year for the Guererri Racing clan better known at Canandaigua Motorsports Park as the ‘Back Row Gang’. 4 different drivers from the Guererri family will carry the banner for the Back Row Gang in 2015 and two of them will also carry the Troyer Race Cars banner with brand new 2015 Troyer chassis.
Nick Guererri’s 25G will be one car to watch in 2015 based on his weekly competition and his schedule trying to hit as many SUNY Canton Grit Racing Series events as he can. Nick finished 2014 with a Top 5 run with the Grit Series and showed everyone here at home that a local guy can hit the road and contend with the best Crate Sportsman drivers in New York State. Canandaigua Motorsports Park touts one of the toughest Sportsman Modified fields from front to back on a weekly basis.
Another reason to watch the 25G in 2015 is this will be Nick’s first opportunity to race with a brand new chassis in his racing career. Nick will contend for the Troyer Cup in 2015 which will see Troyer chassis drivers faceoff for a host of Troyer product and contingencies. The top prize for the Troyer Cup will see a competitor take home a $10,000 value of a brand new chassis, body, bumpers, side bars, body mounts and $1,500 in Troyer bucks.
Paul Guererri, better known as “The G Man” will also field a brand new Troyer in 2015 as he will also chase the weekly points title at Canandaigua and 2015 Troyer Sportsman Cup. 2014 saw the eldest racing Guererri come home only 39 points behind the leader with 2 wins, 9 Top 5’s and 16 Top 10’s in 17 starts.
Matt Guererri will also be in competition in 2015 returning with his 12G Bicknell chassis which he has raced several seasons with and become comfortable in. The driver known around the shop as “Gibbz” will look to lock down a trip to victory lane this season after bringing home 7 Top 5’s and 12 Top 10’s in 17 starts last season.
Frank Guererri Jr will once again pilot the 113 Jr for Crate Sportsman competition, running a mix of races at the Black Rock Speedway and Canandaigua Motorsports Park. ‘The Cranker’ got 2015 off to a great start last weekend as he spent $10 on a Crate Sportsman engine raffle ticket and won a brand new engine courtesy of the Crate Motor Connection valued at $3,500. That will certainly give Frank a great boost to kick off 2015 as well as his benefit party slated for Saturday March 7th in Seneca Falls, NY.
This weekend will see Guererri Racing put on their annual dinner and beer blast benefit at the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge at 2221 River Rd in Seneca Falls, NY. The Duke/Syracuse game will be on the big screen, Creekside Entertainment will handle the music and entertainment while Turn 5 Live will have their mobile studio setup doing interviews for the many drivers that plan to attend the annual Guererri Racing party. Tickets are just $20 for singles and $35 per couple and can be purchased at the door.
Nick Guererri joined Steven, Clint and Brad on Turn 5 Live to talk Crate Sportsman racing, his brand new Troyer and the big bash planned for today in Seneca Falls!
