Two-time defending race winner Brian Campbell leads the list of early entries for Toledo Speedway’s 7-Up 200 season opener Saturday afternoon, April 16.

The ARCA/CRA Super Series will make up one half of the event, with the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Late Model Gold Cup Series filling out the show. Each group will stage 100 lap feature events on the half-mile paved oval.

Campbell, who resides in Wyoming, Mich., captured the 2014 and 2015 ARCA/CRA runnings of this event at Toledo, which unofficially opens up the pavement late model short track season in the Midwest. A new car and new engine package will put Campbell’s No. 47 to the test for the ARCA/CRA tour.

Defending ARCA/CRA champion and Rookie of the Year Grant Quinlan, two-time series champion Travis Braden and three-time series champion Johnny VanDoorn will also be on hand for the event.

Ohio residents Jack Smith and Cody Coughlin, Michigan speedsters Chad Finley, Thomas Woodin and Chris Koslek and Indiana racers Hunter Jack, Dalton Armstrong, Wes Griffith Jr., Eddie VanMeter, Jeff Cannon and Quinnton Bear are also entered.

The ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Late Model Gold Cup entries have just begun to arrive, with former series and Flat Rock and Toledo champ Dennis Strickland, Toledo resident Nick Bailey and Michigan driver Frankie Jiovani the first three drivers to file entries for the 100 lap contest for the outlaw-bodied late models.

Advance ticket buyers for Toledo’s first event of the year will be offered the Sunny Media “Good Weather Guarantee.” If the temperature is not at least 55 degrees with no rain at the scheduled 3 p.m. start time, all advance ticket purchasers will be given a free ticket to the next event on Toledo’s schedule, the USAC Silver Crown Series race Saturday, April 30.

To qualify for this offer, an advance ticket must be purchased prior to 5 p.m. Friday, April 15 for Saturday’s 7-Up 200. Tickets are now on sale, with a $5 discount being offered for the advance ticket sale. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. Children 6-12 are $3 and under 6 are admitted free of charge. In the event of weather issues, a rain date of Sunday, April 17 at 1 p.m. has been established.
