April 30, 2014 — team release — TALLADEGA, AL — The ARCA Racing Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway for the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200, the fourth race of the 2014 season. Mark Thompson will be aboard the No. 4 Phoenix Air Chevrolet for Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) at Talladega to make his second start of 2014.
Thompson is quite familiar with Talladega Superspeedway, with this weekend marking his 17th start at the racetrack. In his previous 16 starts, Thompson has amassed seven top fives and nine top 10s. TSM is no stranger to victory lane at Talladega Superspeedway in the ARCA Racing Series, as Brandon McReynolds was victorious in 2012.
“I’m very excited to get behind the wheel of the No. 4 Phoenix Air Chevrolet this weekend at Talladega,” Thompson expressed. “It has been a long time since my last race at Daytona in February, and I’m ready to get back at it. I can’t thank Turner Scott Motorsports enough for putting together this racecar. Hopefully we can end the weekend in victory lane.”
This weekend, crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. and the No. 4 Phoenix Air team will unload the same chassis that Chase Elliott ran at Daytona in February, bringing home a ninth-place finish. Thompson also raced this same chassis at Talladega Superspeedway last April, finishing in the fourth position.
The ARCA Racing Series goes green from Alabama again this weekend, and you can watch the racing action from Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. EDT live on FOX Sports 1.
