DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Florida native Ray Black Jr. led an uneventful final XFINITY Series practice Thursday at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

Black took the top time in his No. 07 Chevrolet at 49.441 seconds (182.035 mph) as only 16 cars ran a lap in the last session before Friday afternoon’s Coors Light Pole Qualifying.

Jeremy Clements was second (181.951 mph) driving his family-owned No. 51 machine. XFINITY Series veteran J.J. Yeley clocked in third (181.652 mph) in the No. 14 TriStar Toyota.

Talladega pole-sitter Blake Koch (181.642 mph) and Timmy Hill (181.477 mph) completed the top-five. Spencer Gallagher and Cole Custer both turned a lap in their backup cars after Gallagher’s left-rear tire went flat in the first practice and collected Custer as an innocent bystander.

All of Friday’s on-track activity is complete as the XFINITY Series qualifies at 2:10 p.m. Friday (NBCSN) to set the grid for the Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 presented by SUBWAY.
