Hathaway, from Dutton, Ontario, posted a fast lap of 14.453 seconds (82.945 mph) in the second of two 30-minute sessions this afternoon. He was second on the board in first practice at 14.605 (82.081) on the .333-mile high banks.

Hathaway took the lead with six laps to go in last year’s Wilson Equipment 300 and drove to what was his second career victory at the time.

Alex Labbe was second-fastest in the final session, followed by J.R. Fitzpatrick, Scott Steckly and rookie Stefanik Rzadzinski.

The final session was costly for points leader L.P. Dumoulin, whose car stalled on the frontstretch and had to be pushed to the garage. The status of his No. 47 Dodge has yet to be determined.

Hometown favorite Donald Chisholm led the field in the first practice of the day at 14.568 (82.188). The rest of the top-five fastest in that session were Hathaway, Mark Dilley, Steckly and D.J. Kennington.

Pole qualifying for the Wilson Equipment 300 is slated for 4:40 p.m. ADT and the race will go green at 8 p.m.
