Daryn Pittman has suffered a broken collarbone following an accident on lap 21 of Wednesday night’s World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Placerville Speedway.
The Kasey Kahne Racing driver announced the news on his Twitter account Thursday morning.
“Thanks everyone for the thoughts [and] prayers,” Pittman said. “To clarify, I am fine — just have [a] broken collarbone! I will [be] back soon.”
Pittman will fly home to Indianapolis and meet with an orthopedic surgeon on Friday to discuss treatment and recovery plans, according to a statement released by Kasey Kahne Racing.
The Owasso, Okla. native sits seventh in World of Outlaws points following Wednesday’s Placerville event, and was a two-time winner on the season.
