When big money is on the line, there is no one better than Bubba Pollard.

Pollard proved that statement true yet again on Sunday afternoon, surviving a day full of mechanical failures and crashes to win the Winter Showdown for asphalt super late models at Kern County Raceway Park for the second-straight year and take home a $40,000 payday.

Early race leaders David Mayhew and Derek Thorn both looked like they would be headed to victory lane at points during Sunday’s race, but both drivers fell out of the race with mechanical issues.

In the closing laps Pollard had to fend off local favorite Parker Stephens, who closed to Pollard’s back bumper in the final laps but was unable to find a way around the Georgia driver.

Jeremy Doss finished third, followed by Tyler Tanner and Noah Gragson.
