SALISBURY, N.C. — Daniel Shirey / Getty Images North America Photo — StarCom Racing announced this morning that it has upped its ante for the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season by acquiring a charter from Richard Childress Racing and hiring Landon Cassill to pilot the team’s No. 00 Chevrolet for all 36 races in the coming season.

Team sources confirmed to Race Chaser Media that the team will also use ECR-prepared engines for the upcoming season in an effort to improve its power. The charter brings with it a guaranteed starting spot in all 36 MENCS races and other benefits.

The relocation into a new 20,000 square foot shop will give the team the presence and the space it needs for the immediate future.

Cassill started 29 Monster Energy Series races for StarCom in 2018 — 25 in the No. 00 Chevrolet, and four for the organization’s No. 99 entry. The 29-year-old driver’s best finish was 18th in the NASCAR Playoffs opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Cassill has been a Monster Energy Series regular since the second half of the 2010 season.
