Richard Childress Racing driver Ty Dillon paced the final NASCAR XFINITY Series practice on Thursday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The series ran two sessions during the afternoon and both were in preparation for Saturday’s 35th Annual Hisense 300 at CMS.

Dillon’s fast lap of 29.778 seconds (181.342 mph) came in his first lap on the track during the happy hour. Joe Gibbs Racing driver Daniel Suarez, who drives the No. 19 Toyota, was second with a time of 29.825 seconds (181.056 mph).

Erik Jones, who lead the opening session on Thursday, was third (29.937 seconds/180.379 mph) and RCR driver (and Ty’s brother) Austin Dillon was fourth (29.965 seconds/180.210 mph).

Rookie contender Brennan Poole, who drives the No. 48 DC Solar Chevrolet, rounded out the top-five (30.007 seconds/179.958 mph). Brandon Jones, Denny Hamlin, Elliott Sadler, Jeb Burton and Kyle Larson completed the top-10 positions.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series teams are back on track Saturday, with qualifying on Fox Sports 1, then the 300 mile event.
