CONCORD, N.C. – Athenian Motorsports has announced that John Wes Townley will miss Thursday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Kentucky Speedway, due to treatment for a possible concussion.

The No. 05 Jive Communications Chevrolet Silverado will be driven by Parker Kligerman in the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225.

In addition, Cole Custer will substitute for Townley in Saturday night’s ARCA Racing Series 150 presented by Casey’s General Stores at Iowa Speedway. The Georgia native was scheduled to compete in that event as well, traveling to the .875-mile oval following the conclusion of Thursday’s Truck race.

The announcement comes after Townley had already withdrawn from last Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series event at Daytona Int’l Speedway, with no cause cited at the time.

Townley hopes to return to competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Eldora Speedway on July 20.
