July 18, 2013 – Pageland, S.C. – “Downtown” Michael Brown hasn’t been in a race car in several weeks.  The 20-year-old dirt-track hotshoe is mighty anxious to get back behind the wheel on Saturday night at the Cherokee Speedway in South Carolina when he straps into the familiar comforts of the Blackwell Motorsports No. 27.

Brown, already a multi-time feature winner this year, scoring top honors in the Blackwell car as well as his own No. 06, says the layoff has only heightened his competitive spirit even further.

“We surely didn’t intend to take a break,” Michael explains.  “We got t-boned in the 27 car a few weeks back and it took a bit of time to get it back together.  We planned to race the 06 in the meantime but each time we went to go somewhere to race it would rain out.  I think I probably speak for everyone in the Carolinas when I say we’ve had about enough rain for a month or so. I’m ready to go racing!”

Talking about his season so far, Michael is all smiles.  “You know what, it’s been a great year.  Sure, we’ve had some bad luck.  We’ve had some wrecks and I’ve made some mistakes that have cost us.  But that’s all part of it.  Getting to know Travis and Chastin Blackwell and racing for those guys has been a blast and I’m thankful to God that I am able to do that.  And, it was really cool to get our own car back out and win with it as well.  I can’t thank all the people who help me out enough, from my team to my sponsors and especially my Dad, my girlfriend and my fans.  They are what keep me pumped up about racing every weekend and give me the drive to chase wins.  I am excited to get back on the track and remember what victory lane feels like one more time!”
