Gastonia, NC – Since the birth of the “King of the Carolina’s” to be held October 24-27th at the Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC promoter Clint Elkins has been delivering exciting details about the inaugural event on a near weekly basis. Since its inception the event has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated events for Southeast race fans in 2013. In just a few short weeks that wait will be over and instead turn to anxious participants and excited fans pouring into the 4/10’s mile dirt oval to witness the Carolina’s best battle it out for over $73,000 in total purse.

As the event draws near Carolina Speedway continues it’s steady efforts to put this show on the entire nation’s radar in late October. What attending race fans will witness during the Halloween weekend includes eight racing divisions, four days of action, over $70,000 in race purse, and for the first time ever in North Carolina the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour.

It was just over two months ago when perhaps the most exciting story line for the inaugural event developed as speedway officials announced the addition of the Eastern Unites States’ blossoming two year modified tour, the Renegades of Dirt. The announcement rapidly gained the attention from dirt modified enthusiasts in the region who have been eager for the tour to make its first appearance in the Tarheel State. The full details of the announcement included the weekends full payout and format that will feature two preliminary nights on Friday and Saturday each paying $1200 to the winner and will lock the top ten cars automatically into the Sunday night A-Main that will pay the modified “King of the Carolina’s” a $3,000 dollar top prize. The remaining cars will each run a last chance showdown in order to round out the twenty car starting field for the thirty lap main event.

As the calendar now turns today to the month of October raring race fans are just weeks away from trekking to the Gastonia, NC dirt oval to witness the talented modified pilots of the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour invade the Carolina Speedway. The best of the best will race side by side for three nights to battle it out for the title as “King” and the hefty loot up for grabs. Just days removed from the Renegades of Dirt’s last event that had social media a buzz about the intense action that unfolded in the state of Ohio over the weekend the level of anticipation for the tours first trip into North Carolina continues to rise.

Earlier Tuesday Carolina Speedway proudly announced a new partnership with The Joie of Seating as they have signed on to be the presenting sponsor for the Renegades of Dirt Open Wheel Modified portion of Inaugural King of the Carolinas presented by Carolinas First Defense on October 24-27, 2013.
