MOORESVILLE, N.C. – official release – ARCA photo — Austin Wayne Self will not be back with Cunningham Motorsports in 2015, a team official announced this week.

Self closed the season sixth in the championship points and is expected to be honored with the SCOTT Rookie of the Year award at the ARCA Racing Series post-season banquet December 13 in Indianapolis.

Cunningham Motorsports co-owner, Kerry Scherer said he was notified prior to the ARCA 98.9 at Kansas Speedway last week that Self would not be coming back to the organization in 2015.

“We wish Austin the best in his 2015 efforts,” Scherer said.

Self earned five top-5 finishes and 13 top-10 finishes in 19 starts in 2014. He missed the season opener at Daytona because he was only 17 at the time. Self was a season-best second at Lucas Oil Raceway and Berlin Raceway.

At Cunningham, Self worked with crew chief Chad Bryant who will be the 2014 recipient of the Cometic Crew Chief of the Year award.

No announcement has been made on which team Self will drive for in 2015.
