All 26 V8 Supercars will this weekend run decals in memory of late cricketer Phillip Hughes at the Sydney NRMA 500.

Each competitor will run a round green sticker with Hughes’ baggy green number 408 and #63notout, most positioned on the rear windows, below the car number.

Hughes was laid to rest yesterday in Macksville, New South Wales, as the nation said goodbye.

CEO James Warburton said the V8 Supercars family had been extremely saddened by the news of Hughes’ passing, including many who knew the young cricketer.

“V8 Supercars understands how our cricketing colleagues are feeling at the moment, and we feel their pain. On behalf of our drivers, teams, fans and the entire V8 Supercars family we are very saddened by his loss and trust that Phillip will be remembered as a remarkable young athlete who symbolised Australian sporting culture,” Warburton said last week.
